Invitation for consumers to attend launch of Flourish Regional Advisory Groups and National Mental Health Commission Forum

Mental health consumers are invited to the launch of the Flourish Regional Advisory Groups by the Chief Executive Officer of the National Mental Health Commission, Robyn Kruk on Tuesday 28 August at 2.30pm at the Wellington Room at the Mecure Hobart, 156 Bathurst Street, Hobart.

People will also have the added opportunity to stay for the National Mental Health Commission forum which is open to all mental health consumers (after the launch at 2.30). This forum is expected to finish between 3.30pm and 4.00pm.

The Prime Minister has established the Commission as an Executive Agency within her portfolio, recognising the important cross sectoral leadership role the Commission will play in mental health reform. More information about the Commission can be found at

We will be holding our first statewide Regional Advisory Group meeting at 1pm (before the launch) in order for members to meet each other, including the Chair of Flourish Dennis Betts OAM, and plan the way forward. It is anticipated that the next meetings for the RAGS will be held in their respective regions in late October.

If you would like to become a member of the Regional Advisory groups please fill out the application form on the Regional Advisory Group page of this website.

We are arranging transport from the North and North West if any consumers need assistance to make it to the launch. Also if you want to attend, and have your own transport or need assistance with bus fares, please make contact with me. If organisations can assist with bringing consumers to the launch and forum please let me know as this will enable more consumers to attend.

Please contact me on 6223 1952, text 0448 185 629 or at Miranda[at] if you have any queries.

RSVP 5pm Friday 24 August.
