Amy Rose
NDIS Peer Worker

Amy moved to Hobart from Sydney in 2005, and loves living in our beautiful island state. Amy is trained in Social Work, completing her Bachelor of Social Work with First Class Honours at Sydney Uni in 2001. She’s worked in youth and adult mental health, in housing and homelessness, and in the LGBTIQA+ community over the last 10 years. Amy has lived experience of mental ill-health and recovery over the last 20 years and is very excited to start her Peer Work journey with Flourish’s NDIS Peer Work service.

“I’m passionate about reform in mental health services to ensure people feel respected, their voices heard, and are empowered to make the choices that work best for them. I know what it’s like to feel alone and to be treated differently because of having mental health issues. I’m so happy to work for Flourish, who bring together people with lived experience to share meaning, hope and all we’ve learnt from our different recovery journeys, to advocate for the power of lived experience in the sector, and to provide support from a place of empathy, understanding and equality.”

Amy enjoys spending time with her two dogs and cat, listening to music, getting out in nature, yoga, and connecting with people.
