Flourish works with mental health consumers to ensure that their rights, responsibilities and opinions are respected by policy makers, service providers and the Tasmanian Community.
Flourish’s Peer Work Project places lived experience workers into mental health services like Baptcare, to give NDIS applicants better and more empathic support.
Being involved with Flourish will provide you with information about mental health issues; invitations to upcoming forums about mental health; and social activities where people with a genuine interest in mental health issues can meet and share experiences and ideas.
Flourish’s Consumer Representative Service (CRS) was established with Tasmanian government support to formalise the participation of mental health consumers in the Tasmanian Government’s mental health system, especially in decision-making fora such as working groups and committees.
FLAGs work with their local communities, government and on behalf of Flourish to ensure that networks are developed within local communities, government agencies and peer organisations that will foster greater understanding of the impact of mental illness on consumers.
